Our chestnuts are grown at Chestnut Ridge on our family farm in Pike County, Illinois. We currently have 30 acres of chestnut trees in production high on the bluffs above the beautiful Mississippi River Valley. Our trees are planted and tended by hand, and thrive on the lush hillsides.

There is no "middleman" involved in our chestnuts business. When you order from Chestnut Ridge of Pike County, you are ordering from US, the grower. We lovingly pick, clean and package our chestnuts and send them directly from our farm to your home or business.

Shipping Information:

It's important to us that you receive only the freshest Chestnuts we have to offer, as they are perishable. We try to limit time in transit, therefore we ship via USPS priority mail on Mon, Tue and Wed only to reduce transit time.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: How do we store our chestnuts? A: Chestnuts require refrigeration for storage, and do well when kept in the crisper section of your refrigerator.

Q: How do we crack our chestnuts? A: Chestnuts have a spiny outer hull which has been removed prior to shipment. They also have a leathery shell which must be removed before eating. This shell has to be scored before roasting. There are two methods to do this in our "recipe" section.

Q: What's the best way to cook our chestnuts? A: There are many different delicious recipes in our "recipe" section. If you come up with new recipes that you really like, please email them to us!
Since we are "nuts" about our Chestnuts we try to ship most orders Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday to make sure they are fresh and delicious when you get them.
